With an undefeated conference season, the Garfield Heights Bulldogs captured their second straight conference crown. The Bulldog Gridders, who compiled an 8-2 overall tally, established a new school record of 15 consecutive wins which exemplified the spirit, skill, and determination associated with this team. The most cherished achievment though was the fact that no senior member ever lost a conference game.
Head Coach Mr. Clifford Foust and his assistants - Mr. Floyd Konet, Mr. Leonard Brickman, and Mr. Robert Wolfe - are to be commended for their efforts in establishing this fine team. Their two platoon system was hailed not only in the team's performance but also in the Cleveland Plain Dealer as "a defense who wouldn't give up, and an offence that made the big play."
Co-captain John Dombos lead the team with honors by making All Scholastic, All Conference, the Ohio North-South Game, and being named Most Valuable Player by his teammates. All Conference honors were bestowed upon co-captain Dan Ebenhack, John Cigavic, Dick Waters, Tim Zuber, Rich Karwan, and Floyd Konet who also made All Scholastic.
